I'm a chef so food obsessed, love music too, specifically CAKE, The decemberists, indigo girls, eels, genesis, peter gabriel, the fratellis, sinead o' connor, razorlight, the ditty bops, arcade fire, amy ray, girlyman, the moldy peaches, dusty springfield, blur, pulp, nirvana, kimya dawson, james, etc etc
I love reading and I truly believe the old saying that your never alone with a book. I liked toast by nigel slater, heat by bill buford, our betty by liz smith, running with scissors, gone with the wind, julie & julia, the color purple, secret life of bees, white teeth, life of pi, the gathering, fried green tomatoes at the whistle stop cafe, the kite runner, anything by Alan Bennet, Dave Gorman, Victoria Routledge, Mike Gayle, Michael Rhulman, Anthony Bourdain or Nick Hornby. A good biography etc etc, too many to list but faves of all time has to be the tales of the city series by armistead maupin, the best books ever!
I'm a walker, not the grassy hilly mountain kind, but the pavement pounding, people watching city kind. I'd rather walk than take the bus or tube, its just the best way to see anywhere.
Not a big movie buff but I did love boys on the side, schinders list, bridget jones, the accused, billy elliot, pulp fiction, trainspotting, juno, reservoir dogs and ghost. I'm nothing if not ecclectic!
My heroes in life are Fergus Henderson, Rosa Parks, Terry Wogan, Angela Hartnett and my friends whom I would do anything for.
I pride myself on my ability to find and send the best greetings cards and inappropriate gifts and I swear too much so I come with a parental Guidance warning, but heck I have worked in the sweaty, hard, bolshy world of pro kitchens since I got my first Saturday job at 15 so what do you expect?
I adore all my friends and family, I don`t make friends easily but the ones I have are truly the best in the world and I wouldn`t trade a single one of em for a lifetimes supply of corn dogs.
oh and my Godson Chuckie O is obviously a genius and the most handsome child ever born and should anyone disagree I will hunt them down and beat them to death with a spoon.
